A Parametric Method for Generating OWA Operators Using Trigonometric Basis Functions
Abstract
Determining/selecting the weight vector corresponding OWA operator is one of the core challenge and prime area of research. In this regard, a novel framework, generating a six dimensional weight vector is proposed in this work. The weight vector proposed here is inspired from quasi-quintic trigonometric basis functions used in Computer-Aided Geometric Design (CAGD). An explicit algebraic formula governed by three parameters has been proposed based on quasi-quintic trigonometric basis. The parameters can be tuned as per the requirement of the user or decision maker to form the weight vector. Corresponding the proposed weight vector, orness measure and orness symmetry property is proposed and discussed also. To show the applicability and effectiveness of the proposed method, a case study for the hotel selection problem is shown capturing diverse decision-maker attitudes.
